Shakira is a singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, businesswoman, philanthropist, and fashion designer from Colombia. She has won two Grammy awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards. Shakira has sold more than 100 million records, making her the most successful Colombian musician of all time.

Shakira’s Greatest Hits is a compilation album released in November 2011, three months after her latest studio album Sale el Sol.

It contains the singer’s 15 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart from 1992 to 2021.

Shakira’s Biography

Shakira was born in Bogotá, Colombia on November 5, 1971.

Her father was a journalist and her mother, Sonia, a nurse.

Her father died when she was seven and her mother died when she was 14.

She has a brother, Daniel, who has been a member of the Colombian band Eme 15 and their new age psychedelic pop group Acoustic Planet.

Shakira’s family originally emigrated to the Canary Islands, and then moved to New York City, where she lived for eight years.

She later returned to Bogotá.

Shakira attended high school at the Instituto Universitario Superior de Educación Artística (IDEA) to study graphic design.

After she graduated in 1990, she attended the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Bogotá, where she studied business administration.

Shakira’s Life Journey

Shakira was born in the poor town of Barranquilla, Colombia, where she was raised. Her mother, Clara, was the oldest daughter of the owner of a small shop.

Her father, Ramón, was an illiterate laborer, and her maternal grandmother was an Almohad. She had to leave school when she was 11 to take care of her younger siblings because her parents were unwell. By 14, Shakira was forced to quit school to work full-time in the family shop to help support her family.

Later, Shakira moved to Bogotá, where she worked in a hotel until she found a job as a singer. At the age of 18, Shakira performed with her sister Maluma at a local club. Shakira’s Latest Album

Shakira released her fourth studio album, El Dorado, in June 2018. El Dorado received mixed reviews from music critics, but performed well commercially, reaching number one on the Spanish and Mexican charts, and entering the US Billboard 200. Shakira is a vocal supporter of the Barcelona football club and her son’s favourite team, FC Barcelona. She stated that as a fan of Barcelona, her son would have to play for the club, and she would teach him the skills needed to play for the team. Shakira gave birth to her fifth son, Milan. Shakira gave birth to her fifth son, Milan, in 2012. Milan is the second child for Shakira and the second son for Shakira and her partner, Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué. Shakira previously had a son named Sasha, born in 2000.

All Her Greatest Songs In One Place

Shakira, 41, said she had been inspired to record a greatest hits album after attending a conference for women in business. “I saw that there were all these women who were so happy, and so I thought, ‘What a great idea to make a greatest hits album’,” she told the Associated Press.

The singer said she was surprised when fans had been telling her they were disappointed by the title, even though it was a tribute to her career. “I thought, ‘What’s the problem?’ I’m trying to give them what they want.

I think they just like to buy albums and have the songs in their phones, that’s why they can’t wait for a few days,” she said. Each track on the album has been carefully chosen.

“Of course you want to put the hits on the album,” she said.

‘Whenever, Wherever’ “‘Whenever, Wherever’ was released in June 2004. In just two months it was number one on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, stayed there for 17 weeks, and was on the chart for over 58 weeks.

It also topped the chart in Canada, Spain, and Ireland, and peaked at number 10 on the UK Singles Chart. Inevitably the single helped Shakira achieve more record sales worldwide. It has sold 1.

Shakira’s Greatest Hits in the US

The US version of Shakira’s Greatest Hits compiles all of the singer’s singles released in the US, plus one new song. The new song is titled “No Es lo Mio”, and is included as a bonus track on all versions of the album. “No Es lo Mio” is the name of a single Shakira released in 2011.

The song features American rapper, Pitbull. Shakira’s Greatest Hits in Europe and Oceania Shakira’s Greatest Hits in Europe includes all the European versions of the singer’s Greatest Hits.

It also features a new song, titled “The Human Nature”. The song was released in Europe as a digital single on June 4, 2014.
